Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta: The Lasting Impact

Take a minute or two—think of your friends, family, coworkers, church members, or gym buddies. There’s a good chance you or someone you care greatly for has had to rely on the team at Children’s Health Care of Atlanta (CHOA) to care for their little one when in need.

From offering treatments for childhood cancers and blood disorders to performing pediatric surgeries and testing new allergy management strategies, families trust the specialists at CHOA to provide the highest level of care and attention for their children in need.

A not-for-profit organization, CHOA is one of the largest pediatric clinical care providers in the United States. In fact, they’ve serviced more than 400,000 patients in Georgia alone!

At Kelly Products, Inc., we believe in investing in a brighter future for generations to come. To better align our passions and goals as a company and as individuals, we strive to continually support both regenerative agricultural practices and the team at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Again this year, CHOA is hosting its Spring Classic baseball game between the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech. 2023 marks the 20th anniversary of the Spring Classic. This fundraiser has helped raise more than $3.5 million since its start in 2003. This year, proceeds will specifically benefit the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center. The event will be held on Sunday, March 5, at Coolray Field.

CHOA’s Impact

Over the past 19 years, more than $3.5 million dollars have been raised in support of Children’s thanks to the support of our fundraising volunteers. And since 2020, CHOA has been able to serve families with the following:

  • 353,205 patients
  • 38,323 surgical procedures (inpatient & outpatient)
  • 154,900 emergency department visits
  • 114,356 urgent care center visits
  • 19,623 primary care visits
  • 61,778 calls to the nurse advice line from parents across Georgia
  • 60+ specialties with access to 2,000 physicians
  • 673 licensed beds
  • 3 hospitals
  • 8 Urgent care centers
  • 50+ pediatric cardiologists in 22 location sites statewide
  • 11,000+ employees

As we look forward, the new, 19-story Arthur M. Blank Hospital is set to open in 2025. Thanks to continued support over the years, the addition of this hospital is helping CHOA improve access to specialized pediatric care for kids everywhere.
