The SB 258, the Cleaning Product Right to Know Act of 2017, provides a clear set of rules for workers, consumers and companies on how cleaning products ingredients should be listed both online and on labels. According to this bill, designated products need to be labeled, if sold in California, on or after January 1, 2021. And more, online disclosure requirements for designated products need to be provided, if sold in California, on or after January 1, 2020.
A ‘Designated Product’ means a finished product that is an air care product, automotive product, general cleaning product, or a polish or floor maintenance product used primarily for janitorial, domestic, or institutional cleaning purposes.
